Handmade Glassbeads - Unique Jewelry for Unique people.

Glass is a wonderfull material for jewelry. By correct annealing it is more durable than you would think, there are endless possibilities for colour and shape and just holding the beads is a delightful sensation.

Pumpkin Beads

The beads are made by heating pencil thin glass rods in a flame of gas and oxygen, untill the glass gets soft and maleable. The beads are shaped around a thin steel rod and worked with tools of graphite, steel and brass. They can be decorated with patterns of coloured glass, or metals like gold, silver and copper. Or both! It really is only the imagination of the beadmaker that sets the limits.

Coloured Rods

Working with the glass takes a steady hand, and it's the perfect anti-dote to life's stressfull moments. You simply must be calm while working in order to not force the glass and make it tense and liable to crack.

I have been making beads for two years now and have become enamoured with the possibilities of the material. The first thing that caught my interest was the so-called Goddess Beads. Beautifully shaped miniature sculptures, ready to be strung and turned into wonderful jewelry. I had to try that for myself.
I love to give my beads an interesting shape or a gorgeous colour combination. The very fact that the usually solid glass turns soft and runs like honey is a small miracle, and to be able to put your mark on these wear-able pieces of art is an exquisite pleasure.

Sculpted Goddess Beads

I have recently begun working with glasses with a high content of silver, which yields brand new possibilities of exciting reactions with other glasses, and for shiny metallic surfaces. Lampworking is an eternally surpricing and enriching joy.
